Is It Better To Get Your Probiotics In A Pill Or As Food?

Let’s go back to a time before we had refridgeration. How did we preserve our food? Through the process of fermentation or culturing. Otherwise the pathogenic organisms would run rampant and proliferate in food products over time. This occurred whenever the food was left at room temperature or above.

What Would An Expert Say About The Nutritional Value Of An Apple?

We all know that an apple a day keeps the doctor away, right? No-one questions that apples are good for you, do they? No-one is calling for an investigation into whether or not an apple is good food.

Do You Have A Desire To Live A Long, Healthy Life?

Maybe you think that is an impossible question. What right do you have to live past 100 years of age? Did you know that there are over 28,000 people over the age of 100 living in Okinawa, Japan? What is their secret?

You will need to do some research. But I am sure that you will discover like I have that to live a long and healthy life you will need good nutritious food, a daily exercise regime and a goal to live longer!

It is not too difficult to have an exercise regime. Nor is it difficult to to have a longevity goal. When I was 16 or 17 I set a goal to live to 100 years of age. Around 1994 I read a book by Deepak Chopra wherein he stated that by 2020, the advances of modern medicine would enable just about everyone to live to 120 years of age. OOPS!!

Did I sell myself short? One of the beauties of goal setting, is that you can be flexible, and make a new goal.

What was my new goal? I wanted to exceed the average, and re-set my goal to live to a ripe old age of 150. Too ambitious, you say. Actually, well within the grasp of anyone that seeks out a long and healthy life.

My body responded by giving me none too subtle hints that my lifestyle needed some substantial re-alignment. The biggest jolt I received was that my diet needed to change if I had any hope of achieving my goal. What to do?

Simple really - adopt a whole food diet that consisted of highly nutritious food. Looking around the supermarket, well to be honest, that was the wrong place to look. Turning to fresh fruit and vegetables was a better option. But was it the right choice. It needed to be certified organic to make sure that I was getting all the vitamins, minerals and energy from the foods that I ate.
